As you may know, back in the late 80's, a strange mutation seemed to surface amongst human populations. Deformities, the authorities called it, and called for a cull on all 'mutated beings'. In fact, such beings have been in existance for many years. They are known as elementals. Little did the public know, or the authorities for that matter, that a secret school was set up for Elementals to learn how to harness their powers, and it has remained hidden ever since.
We have recieved information to suggest that you have certain abilities that we are interested in and we would like to offer you a place at Shahin Heights, a secret, elemental academy. Here, you can learn how to control many great powers and learn many important skills. If you wish, you may simply shred this letter and throw it away. However, if you wish to visit the academy and find out more, simply burn this litter as a signal. You will be collected from your home at midnight tomorrow - remember, you may have contact with your family but no-one else must be informed of this. And most improtantly, be prepared.
Yours Sincerely,
The Headmaster of Shahin Heights.

Starting with the man in the mirror... « Thread Started on Jun 16, 2008, 11:27pm »
Gwenhywfar stumbled out of the bathroom stall. The plumbing thundered and gurgled behind her. Gwen wore a long, billowy, black skirt, a pink tank top, flat leather sandals, and a zip-up hoodie. The hoodie was made from patches of rainbow-dyed fabric, printed with yin-yangs and Buddhist symbols. She stepped up to the worn stone sink and soaked her hands in the icy water. Her short blonde hair was tied back into two stubby pigtails. She dried her hands and raised one up to her cheek to wipe away the wet dark smudge on her cheek. Her mascara had run off her lashes, making the circles under her eyes even darker than usual. Gwen stared at her reflection in the cracked and foggy mirror. Her eyes were red and she looked like a very disgruntled, blonde panda. She could not help but chuckle at herself. What am I so upset about, she wondered, and why should I be so upset? Shahin Heights had not been the easiest experience for Gwen. The classes were hard, meeting new friends was harder, and she was straight up home sick. Yet, she was not going to let it get the best of her. She laughed at her messy reflection, wet the tips of her fingers, and wiped under her eyes. Digging through her pinned and badge speckled messenger bag, she pulled out her tube of mascara and set to work restoring her makeup.
