As you may know, back in the late 80's, a strange mutation seemed to surface amongst human populations. Deformities, the authorities called it, and called for a cull on all 'mutated beings'. In fact, such beings have been in existance for many years. They are known as elementals. Little did the public know, or the authorities for that matter, that a secret school was set up for Elementals to learn how to harness their powers, and it has remained hidden ever since.
We have recieved information to suggest that you have certain abilities that we are interested in and we would like to offer you a place at Shahin Heights, a secret, elemental academy. Here, you can learn how to control many great powers and learn many important skills. If you wish, you may simply shred this letter and throw it away. However, if you wish to visit the academy and find out more, simply burn this litter as a signal. You will be collected from your home at midnight tomorrow - remember, you may have contact with your family but no-one else must be informed of this. And most improtantly, be prepared.
Yours Sincerely,
The Headmaster of Shahin Heights.

Take me wandering through these streets Where bright lights and angels meet
It wasn't a rare occassion for Phoebus to wake up in the middle of the night, sit bolt upright in bed and feel completely starving hungry. Rubbing his sleepy eyes, he found himself wandering down to the Dining Hall. Luckily they served food after the extra lessons finished, too, and continued serving food to those all-night-workers who snacked whilst enjoying the peace of the quiet Dining Hall.
Strolling into the dining hall wearing some long pyjama trousers and a clean (minus a few hours of sleep) t-shirt, Phoebus went to collect a tray of food. He was pretty well known by now down here, three years of midnight snacks did that.
His dark eyes studied the hall with boredom. There was a girl to his far right, sitting reading a book by a slow-burning candle. He decided not to disturb her, and so he strolled towards an empty table with a tray full of various sugary substances, plonking the tray down and slipping into a seat to begin his feast.
Stone to stone they take me on I'm walking 'til the break of dawn

Sure, it was night. Sure, everyone was probably asleep. But when it came to staying up 'till midnight, trying to find a book, the teacher didn't really give a damn. She was rather noisy about it too, shuffling about in her room, throwing things out of the drawers and tripping over those things she threw out of the drawers. True, she wasn't the most gracious of people, but she could at least have her chances of being a loving and elegant person, right? Obviously wrong on her part.
Scuffing through the halls in white slippers, a black tank-top and pyjama trousers hanging loosely on her body. Lara's eyes were half-open and her hair was mostly a mess, but she didn't care for looks right now, she was just trying to get some food or drink. Both would be nice. Glancing down by her feet, she paused and looked back ahead, water appearing and forming into a long, slender snake. "Tired, Lara?" Lucius teased, flicking his tongue out as he slithered along side her. "None of your bussssssiness." she said, mocking him. "If I could bite you, I would." Shaking her head with an amused smile, Lara walked into the Dining Hall to see a boy sitting at a table, and someone by a candle.
She recognised him from some nights of midnight snacking herself, but never took the time to actually speak to him. Would he want the company of a teacher? Would he care? "Lookssss like fun." Lucius hissed softly, slithering past Lara, but she quickly touched his tail with her foot and he evaporated. Tutting, Lara walked on and took a tray of food for herself, putting on a piece of apple pie, and made her way towards a table after picking up a fork. She casually sat down a person away from him, glancing at him at the corner of her eye.
His name... Peter... Pat... Pheoby... Pheobus! She smirked and looked at her food, cutting up the front part and ate it gleefully.

ooc; Hope it's okay if Sinéad is the girl sitting, reading, haha. bic; Sinéad's hazel eyes flickered over the pages of a rather long big with rather small print, as she took in the words eagerly. She was sitting in the canteen, alone, due to the fact that as usual, everyone in her dorm was being as noisy as hell, and she couldn't concentrate on reading the new book she'd found in the library. Jane Eyre, it was called, and although written by some old English woman, it was actually a pretty good book.
Upon hearing footsteps, she glanced up, pushing her sandy blonde, cascading hair out of her face, as one of her habits. She didn't usually come down here but it was the first place she stumbled across, and was a little suprised to see the boy tucking into a midnight feast. She didn't realise the serving hatch was still open, she thought that food couldn't be obtained after 10 o'clock or so. Placing the book momentarily down on the table, she leaned forwards a little to speak to the guy.
"You can still get food down here at midnight?" She asked inquisitively, a small smile playing across her bemused features.

His dark eyes flickered as Lara walked in, or Miss Schwarz to him. He blinked as she sat quite close to him, and although they didn't really know each other, he knew of her so he didn't exactly mind.
Just as he picked up a bar of white chocolate and took a big bite, he heard another voice, and his attention shifted from nothingness to the girl who had been reading. He watched the candlelight flicker against her face and he coughed on his chocolate, swallowing uncomfortably.
"Erm," he said and then coughed again. "One sec, lemme realign my esophagus," he joked. His eyes momentarily flickered over to Lara who had also gotten some food. Did the girl really need to ask, or was she just making conversation?
Hoping it was the latter, he looked back at her and smile as charmingly as possible. "Erm, yeah. They serve until about 2 in the morning, I think," he replied, waving his chocolate bar as he spoke and then taking another bite.

She was half way through her piece of pie when she heard a feminine voice ask Pheobus something. Glancing at them again, she smirked at the boy almost choking before answering and she wondered if he was trying to joke around pathetically, or was being honest. Lara actually didn't know if it went on all night, she just came, ate for ten minutes and left again. Finishing off her wonderful pie, she glanced at them again and smirked, wiping her mouth for any left over crumbs and stood up.
"He's right." she added, taking her plate back to the counter to have to cleaned. She looked back at the two and her smirk turned into a teasing smile as she passed them by. "Don’t stay up too late now!" she said teasingly, obviously joking. Lara could care less about when they went to their dormitories, Lara was more concerned about herself. She wanted as much sleep as she could get right now. As she left the dining hall, she glanced at them over her shoulder again and chuckled softly. "They look cute together.." she observed quietly to herself.
ooc| I don't want to have you both waiting for ages for my posts, and I thought Lara wouldn't be fit for this board (x

"Sorry," Sinéad said softly, smiling hesitantly at Phoebus. She wasn't sure if he was joking or not, and she didn't want to offend someone she barely knew, so decided that a smile was the best course of action. She didn't usually talk to people out of the blue, but something about the boy's face seemed friendly enough.
She wrinkled her nose slightly, glancing shyly back at the pages of the book she was holding and wandering whether to shut up and not interrupt the boy's midnight snack again. Her eyes flickered over to her teacher, Miss Schwarz, slightly alarmed by her smirk. Now this is why you don't start conversations with random strangers, she told herself.
However, she was relieved as they both spoke, and smiled once more, her eyes lighting up as she did so. "I see, so do you come here often, then?" before adding (slightly alarmed by Lara's joke), "Don't worry, I won't, Miss."

Phoebus laughed and nodded at Lara's departing comment, not quite sure what to make of it but acknowledging it anyway. He watched her walk away for a moment and then turned back to Sinéad.
"Haha, well yes actually," he had to think a little before he answered. "I'm a bit of a random insomniac, sorta a regular down here by now," he grinned a little.
Extending his hand, he smiled in a friendly way. "I'm Phoebus. What's your name?"
