As you may know, back in the late 80's, a strange mutation seemed to surface amongst human populations. Deformities, the authorities called it, and called for a cull on all 'mutated beings'. In fact, such beings have been in existance for many years. They are known as elementals. Little did the public know, or the authorities for that matter, that a secret school was set up for Elementals to learn how to harness their powers, and it has remained hidden ever since.
We have recieved information to suggest that you have certain abilities that we are interested in and we would like to offer you a place at Shahin Heights, a secret, elemental academy. Here, you can learn how to control many great powers and learn many important skills. If you wish, you may simply shred this letter and throw it away. However, if you wish to visit the academy and find out more, simply burn this litter as a signal. You will be collected from your home at midnight tomorrow - remember, you may have contact with your family but no-one else must be informed of this. And most improtantly, be prepared.
Yours Sincerely,
The Headmaster of Shahin Heights.

"What the hell is this meant to be, a bloody greenhouse?" Will exclaimed in his rather rugged, Newcastle voice as he walked into the Earth Element's Common Room. They'd given him directions up here to the Fire Common Room, but apparently he'd taken a wrong turning because it looked more like he was standing in a jungle of potted plants, vines, and the occassional arm chair than a Common Room. Raising a frustrated to his hair, he ruffled the tangled mess before wandering forwards, looking around for any sign of human life amongst the earthy colours.
Unable to see anyone, the rather wild, untamed boy spun back around, and started to head towards the doorway when he realised he could no longer see it, having made his way away from it. Either his sense of direction must be awful (because he hadn't yet that day found anything he wanted to in this blasted 'academy') or the school was changing with every step he took. Not likely, he thought, shrugging, but then again he wouldn't put it past 'em in a freak-school like this.

"Greenhouse? No," Azzurra's cool voice floated from behind a screen of vines. She parted it with her slightly tanned hands, stepping through and setting her eyes on the boy. Already she was alarmed, he looked positively wild and she was sure he wasn't an earth student.
"This is the Earth commonroom..." she faded out, frowning and watching him with interest. In a way, he was sort of good looking if you liked the rugged type. She perked up a little at the sound of his accent. Another English person! She thought happily, smiling ever so slightly as her long hair cascaded down against her shoulderblades. She was wearing a thing cami-top and some skinnies, nothing fabulous but they suited her.

"Christ," He muttered, as Azzurra seemed to appear between the leaves of two plants. "Wait for it, don't tell me, you're actually a plant that changes into a girl every full moon...." He wouldn't have cared whether the girl was staring at him or not, except being 'snuck-up' upon by a pretty third year didn't exactly make him feel more comfortable with the situation.
He stared at her sheepishly for a moment, wondering whether he should continue to be an arse to her, like he had been to every other person he'd met in this goddamned school so far, but he just found he didn't have the energy anymore. He was tired, he was confused, and most of all he was scared in anticipation of when the next bout of uncontrolled flames would pop up all over his hands. "Look," he said, again ruffling his uncontrollable hair a little, "Could you possibly tell me where the hell the flammable people camp out? I'm meant to be one of them, or summat."

A coy smile spread over her face and she bit her lip to refrain from laughing. She loved new students. Absolutely adored them, and how vague they were about... well, everything.
"Flammable people?" she giggled a little, lifting a hand and teasing a lock of hair out of her face. She peered at him, still smiling, wondering what would cheer this boy up.
"What's your name? I'm assuming you're new..." she trailed off, and she moved a little closer, seemingly finding a sofa amongst the plants where she sat down with a plonk, as if to say No, this is far too amusing, I'll show you to the fire dorms after I've had my fun.

As Azzurra laughed, Will just stared at her, not quite seeing what was funny. He wasn't in the mood to laugh at the moment, anyway. He shoved his hands deep into the pockets of his jeans, and said, "Yeah, you know, the idiots with flames?" His voice came off as rather sarky, but he offered her a quick smile.
"I'm Will," He said, wondering whether he should be polite and enquire about her name. However, he didn't, being determined to hate everything about the academy he was forced to stay at, no matter how charming they were. As she sat down on a nearby sofa, he raised an eyebrow, as if to say, am I supposed to sit down?

She smiled sweetly, one brow raising ever so slightly as if daring him to sit down. She was curious about him, he seemed particularly eager to be disappointed with everything and find a problem with everyone. Well, as far as she knew.
"So, Will, what do you think of the academy?" she asked, entwining her hands together at her knees before bringing a hand up to her chin where she rested her head. "Or should I not mention the war?" She laughed softly again, wondering what made him so hard to please.

Will didn't fail to pick up on her dare, but as always, he became even more stubborn by challenge. His jaw jutted forwards slightly in a resolute manner, as instead he leant back against a massive ceramic pot that was nearly as tall as himself. Large leaves of the tree that the pot housed engulfed him for a second before he pushed them out of his face, smiling slightly.
"I think it's a load of bollocks," he said, grinning, until his face fell. Not mention the war? What on earth was she talking about? As usual, just as he was beginning to feel comfortable, something came along and knocked his out of place. "Whadd'ya mean?" he asked gruffly.

Azzurra's hand lifted to her eye for a moment and she brushed an eyelash off her cheek, smiling slightly as he became engulfed in a plant. When he pushed the leaves out of the way smiling, her smile grew a little wider. He looked more approachable when he smiled.
Unfortunately, his face seemed to drop a little, and in response (as many females do), her own expression dropped. She frowned at him curiously. Did he not even know what 'Don't mention the war' meant? How odd.
"Err... don't worry." She shook her head and leaned back, folding her arms in front of her as she examined him. "So what makes you so hard to please?" She finally asked defiantly, big brown eyes studying his expression carefully.
